Sąspowska Valley in Prehistoric Times

Bramka Rockshelter

Posted on 25 January 201930 September 2019

Bramka Rockshelter

The Bramka rockshelter is located about 50 m above the bottom of Sąspowska Valley, on its northern slope. It takes form of a rock window, two large openings has SE and NW exposure. Research conducted by prof. Chmielewski showed that it was a place visited in Mesolithic, Neolithic and Middle Ages. The remains of mesolithic Komornica culture are the most interesting, as it was very rare that rock shelters were used during this period.
